What to expect from the 2023 Subaru Forester?

The Subaru Forester is a special vehicle on the market. A true precursor to the utility models we know today, it has always enjoyed great popularity with a clientele of buyers who never hesitate to repeat the experience with this product.

When people buy the same vehicle again, it's because it has the desired qualities.

For 2023, it is important to note that the model remains the same as last year. The next redesign is not for this year.

On the menu, you'll find the same versions: Forester, Touring, Sport, Wilderness, Limited and Premier. Under the hood, it's simple: a single engine serves the entire lineup, a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder offering 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, all channelled through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Last year, the new Wilderness version was added to the family. The latter, which benefits from slightly different styling, notably with additional plastic appliqués around the fenders and bumpers, also offers increased off-road capabilities, thanks in part to a raised suspension to facilitate obstacle clearance. The model also benefits from the two-mode version of the X-Mode terrain management system, as well as 17-inch wheels with off-road tires.

In addition, skid plates underneath the vehicle allow for confident driving in inhospitable terrain. The model also has different styling features, both inside and out. The interior is also equipped with easy-to-clean carpets that are also more durable. The Wilderness version is also spoiled with a unique instrument cluster, alloy pedals, and yellow stitching on the seats.

As a bonus, you can tow up to 1360 kg with this version instead of 680 kg with the more regular versions.

And with this version, as with all the others, you have at your disposal an incredibly practical interior. Behind the second row of seats, you'll find a trunk with 881 litres of volume. When you put the rear seats down, you free up 2104 litres, which is really impressive.

And then there are three other obvious advantages to a Forester model; its reliability, its incredible resale value, as well as the quality of its all-wheel drive.

And if that wasn't enough, the model is an IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety - Top Safety Pick+).
